Swimming is one of Australia’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic sports. Swimming Australia Limited and the University of the Sunshine Coast have established a High Performance Paralympic research area in swimming. The aim of this research project is to firstly understand the current opportunities and barriers for participation in swimming. This research will evaluate interventions to increase Community Sport participation through to High Performance Sport.
Eligibility and selection criteria:
The scholarship will be awarded to a high-performing PhD candidate commencing in the PhD program. The scholarship is available for a period of 3 years.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Have a Bachelor degree with First class Honours or have an equivalent level of attainment via previous study, work experience, research publications, referee’s reports and other research experience; and
- Recipients must maintain satisfactory progress as a full-time PhD candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Standard Selection Criteria:
- Undergraduate academic achievement; and
- Research Strength; and
- Publications; and one of
- Most recent degree; OR
- Relevant work experience (at least one year full time equivalent in allied health clinical practice)
Value: $25,000 per annum, tax free
